Origins
1997
- In a leveraged buyout, Schneider sells Spie Batignolles to its employees, the majority shareholder, and the UK-based AMEC.
1988 - 1993
- The company expands into Europe with the acquisition of electrical contracting firms in Belgium and Portugal.
1968
- Société de Construction des Batignolles and SPIE are merged and given the name Spie Batignolles, the main shareholder being the Empain group, which eventually becomes Empain-Schneider.
1900
- Formation of Société Parisienne pour l'industrie des Chemins de Fer et des Tramways, which becomes Société Parisienne pour l'Industrie Electrique (SPIE) in 1946.
1846
- Société de Construction des Batignolles is founded.
