Nuclear - Modification of fire protection for safety buildings at France's 19 nuclear power plants

2007/10/24

EDF CNEPE - the French national centre for electricity generating equipment - has awarded SPIE Nucléaire a contract for the modification of the fire protection systems for safety buildings at France's 19 nuclear power plants.

This €3.6 million order, placed with a consortium formed by SPIE Nucléaire and SNEF, is worth €1.7 million to SPIE Nucléaire. Work will be spread over a period of 36 months.

This is a comprehensive multitechnical contract comprising five lots: ventilation, electricity, civil engineering, fire detection and hydrogen detection, and fire-fighting systems.

SPIE Nucléaire is responsible for conducting engineering studies and carrying out the ventilation, electrical, and civil engineering work, as well as the co-ordination and performance of work on site.

This success confirms the development of SPIE Nucléaire's Tours office in the field of engineering studies, HVAC and electrical contracting.
