SPIE Sud-Est installs the air conditioning system at Rossignol's head office

2007/11/30

Rossignol, the renowned ski manufacturer, has awarded SPIE Sud-Est the heating, ventilation and air conditioning contract for its global head office, an HQE(*) building located in Moirans, Isère.

The project, which is worth more than €2.7 million, involves installing climate engineering systems in a 12,000 square metre property that includes offices, a showroom and a production workshop for competition skis.

Key aspects of the required work:

Heating part

  • a steam boiler operating at 8 bar (170°C) will heat the building (750 KW) and supply the process machinery,
  • underfloor heating (1,200 sq m),
  • radiant panel heating in the workshop (2,400 sq m);

Cooling part

  • cooling will be provided by pumping water from the water table (via four 15 m deep boreholes),
  • 250 ceiling-mounted air handling units and fan-coil units will be installed to service the office area, together with two standalone water-condensing air cooler cabinets for the computer rooms;

Plumbing part

  • supply and distribution to 75 sanitary appliances and 30 kitchen appliances.

The project is scheduled to run for 15 months from the start of November until January 2009.

(*) HQE: High Environmental Quality; this sustainable development initiative aims to control a building's impact on the external environment while maintaining a healthy, comfortable internal environment.
