The Lafarge Ciments group is increasing the production capacity of its plant in Tetouan, northern Morocco, by extending the plant's existing transformer station with the addition of a second 25 MVA transformer to double its power ouput.

This customer has chosen Elecam's Moroccan teams to carry out this project which entails:

  • conducting implementation studies,
  • purchasing supplies, performing civil engineering work and installing a 1,250 KVA standby generator,
  • installing equipment,
  • and carrying out tests and commissioning work.

This contract, worth 18,918 K dirhams (about €1.7 million), will require an average manpower of 13 persons from the Lignes et Postes (Lines and Substations) department for 13 months.

This operation follows an earlier contract worth nearly €1.9 million performed at the same plant between 2002 and 2003 by our Moroccan teams which gave Lafarge Ciments complete satisfaction.

In particular, it should be noted that the Lignes et Postes (Lines and Substations) department successfully complied with the customer's very strict safety requirements and demonstrated its great expertise in the technical fields involved.
