Commercial Electricity - Alès hospital awards a contract to SPIE Sud-Ouest

2007/04/30

The hospital complex in Alès in the Gard département is erecting a new 30,000 m², 274-bed building near the existing hospital that it is to replace.

As part of this project, it has awarded the contract for the high- and low-voltage electrical work to a consortium formed by SPIE Sud-Ouest (leader), Somiteg and Clemessy.

The order is worth a total of €11.5 million, of which €8.5 million for SPIE Sud-Ouest.

The industrial and commercial electricity department at the Languedoc-Roussillon Regional Office will carry out the following work alongside the Large Projects Electrical Installation department at the Midi-Pyrénées Grand Toulouse office:

  • High-voltage electricity: transformer, main distribution board, distribution cabinets, power sockets and light fittings
  • Low-voltage electricity: VDI, centralised technical management, access control, patient call system and video surveillance

The engineering phase, which has recently begun, will conclude in 12 months, with handover scheduled for late 2009.

At its busiest, up to 60 people may work at the site. This project will involve 10,000 hours of engineering studies and 86,000 hours of production work.
