SPIE acquires Controlec

On 1 December 2006, SPIE Nederland and SAG GmbH announced that they were in agreement regarding the sale of Controlec.
With the process just completed, the two companies have been able to make the effective transfer of the corresponding shares.
Controlec provides engineering, installation and maintenance services for industry, and is specialised in the fields of electricity, instrumentation and automation. Based in Schiedam (near Rotterdam), the company was formed in 1971 and generates sales of around €55 million with 450 employees.
SPIE Nederland has 1,000 employees at 11 locations and sales of €120 million. With its acquisition of Controlec, SPIE Nederland has become a leader in the Netherlands in electricity, automation and mechanical engineering.
