GRTgaz(*), a subsidiary of the Gaz de France group, is responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of gas distribution networks and storage installations in metropolitan France.
For the maintenance of its remote metering infrastructures, GRTgaz has asked SPIE to renovate the electrical installations of least 300 of the remote management and metering stations of its gas supply networks serving domestic and industrial consumers. This work is scheduled for a four-year period as from 2 April 2007.
On the basis of a cost of between €10,000 and €15,000 per station, the planned orders will be worth an approximate total of €3 to 4.5 million plus an agreed 30% additional payment for supplementary work.
This national contract is being co-ordinated by the Services Development Department and supervised by SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest. Other subsidiaries have also been mobilised: SPIE Est, SPIE Ouest-Centre and SPIE Sud-Est.
After receiving special training from GRTgaz in the hazards of working on gas installations (SENSIGAZ training), the SPIE teams will be entrusted with the following tasks:
Construction of the first prototypes has already been started at Saint-Priest (69) and Isneauville (76), and series manufacture should soon be under way.
