Standing at the heart of the business district of Lyon, Tour Oxygène and its neighbouring shopping mall, Cours Oxygène, will be two separate but harmoniously designed buildings marking the entry of the city's Part Dieu quarter into the 21st century.
The 28-storey Tour Oxygène, designed by the Arte Charpentier architectural firm, will rise to a height of 115 metres. This tower will be crowned with a rooftop steel sheet structure that will be lit up at night. It will offer 29,000 sq. m. of office space, 80% of which will be lit by natural daylight. This will be the first tower block in Lyon to fully comply with France's high environmental quality (HQE) requirements. This quality standard aimed at promoting sustainable development is intended to control the impact of buildings on the external environment and to provide a healthy, comfortable indoor environment.
In addition to the tower, the project includes a shopping centre with an area of more than 15,000 sq. m. and underground parking on four levels.
This €104 million project has been awarded to a consortium led by GFC Construction.
As leader of a consortium with Cote, SPIE Sud-Est has been entrusted with the electrical work packages on a co-contracting basis, including high and low voltage power and the fire safety system.
This work is worth a total of €6.5 million, including €3.6 million for SPIE Sud-Est.
The work is to be carried out by the Lyonnais office and is due for completion in three years.
