The urban video surveillance contract for the town of Argenteuil (Val d'Oise) has been won by the Paris Nord-Ouest Office of the Ile-de-France Regional Office. This follows the success of the Paris Sud-Est Office in obtaining the video surveillance contract for Etampes.
This new contract is an innovative step for the Paris Nord-Ouest Office, supported by the Telecoms Services department, as the communications network for this video surveillance system based on HiperLAN(*) technology will rely completely on radio transmission.
In all, 58 video cameras will be operated from the town's municipal police headquarters.
This contract consists in a firm phase worth €993,000 and a conditional phase for €122,000.
Work recently got under way with the aim of commissioning parts of the system before this summer.
