SPIE Nucléaire has won a multitechnical contract in the context of the construction of the Flamanville 3 EPR

2008/06/20

Following an invitation for tenders in December 2007, the Engineering Department of EDF's national centre for electricity production equipment (CNEPE) in Tours, France, has awarded SPIE Nucléaire a multitechnical contract for work on its new third-generation nuclear power plant which is being built on the Flamanville 3 site.

This contract includes engineering studies, delivery and tests for a turnkey 4.6 MW boiler plant to be installed in the turbine hall. The work to be done includes the provision of piping, supports, high and low-voltage electrical installations, automatic control systems, pumps, boilers, valves, heat insulation, paintwork, scaffolding and lifting operations.

This boiler plant will produce hot water at 90°C to supply the ventilation system battery to heat premises inside and outside controlled areas.

Work on this €800,000 contract will start with engineering studies in September 2008 and is to be completed with a test phase in December 2010.
