SPIE Oil & Gas Services wins a contract in Gabon

2008/06/16

Perenco Gabon has awarded SPIE Oil & Gas Services, through its subsidiary Foraid Gabon, a contract to operate and maintain the pulling and snubbing units at its on shore and offshore facilities in Gabon.

Perenco Gabon is Gabon's third-largest oil producer (behind Total Gabon and Shell Gabon), pumping 48,000 barrels of crude per day.

This contract is estimated to be worth more than €12 million over an initial period of three years (with an annual rolling renewal option).

The project to take over this part of the work-over business involves the operation and maintenance of five operational units: three Semco or Ctech pulling units and two snubbing units. More than 70 people work at these facilities, including more than sixty Gabonese employees.

This project is a concrete example of SPIE Oil & Gas Services' strategy to develop its Well Services offering.

It also strengthens the company's partnership with Perenco, particularly in the Gulf of Guinea.
