SPIE Sud-Est strengthens its position with two new acquisitions

2009/01/28

SPIE Sud-Est has acquired two new companies to strengthen its position both geographically and in terms of professional expertise.

Acquisition of SOMELEC

Founded in 1993 and based in Vaucluse, France, SOMELEC specialises in the provision of local industrial services in the fields of electricity and industrial processes.
Its business activity is mainly focused on the industrial sector, including agribusiness in particular.
SOMELEC, which achieves average annual sales worth €5 million, has 45 employees working in design, installation, after-sales and maintenance at its two plants located near Orange and Avignon.

Through the acquisition of SOMELEC, SPIE Sud-Est is reinforcing the geographical coverage of its local services in Vaucluse and extending its range of services for industrial firms in Provence.

Acquisition of GB Analyse

As an engineering company specialising in industrial analysis, GB Analyse will bolster SPIE Sud-Est's offering for the petrochemical market in the field of maintenance and, also, for turnkey projects in the highly specialised area of analytical sampling systems.
Established in the early 2000s, GB Analyse is located near Lyon. It achieves annual sales of about €500,000 euros and employs five people.

This acquisition confirms SPIE Sud-Est's determination to pursue the development of its areas of professional expertise which already cover highly specialised business fields.
