SPIE Communications wins the most coveted facilities management contract of the year - worth about €25 million - with the French Foreign Office.
Having already obtained a contract for the national job centres' help desk, a deal worth more than $10 million (with an estimated total of €15 million) with the French Economy, Industry and Employment Ministry in July 2009, SPIE Communications has built on that success to secure a facilities management contract to provide the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs with "computer and telephone user assistance, network management and maintenance" services.
This contract, which also tops the $10 million mark (with an estimated total of €25 million), confirms SPIE Communications' expertise in the field of outsourced services.
The new contract covers the work station environment and all the IT, telephone and network facilities required to place that environment at users' disposal. The functions and activities concerned are centred on three entities:
1. back office: services centre including the services desk (N1 & 2), request management, office automation administration and network management;
2. front office: including local proximity, logistics and equipment management;
3. performance monitoring: covering support functions for governance, project co‑ordination, reporting and quality procedures.
The services to be provided extend over more than 20 sites in and around Paris and an entity in Nantes.
The scale of this project will require the mobilisation of 60 employees who will be fully dedicated to serving this prestigious customer.
