The EDF decommissioning and environmental engineering centre (CIDEN) has awarded SPIE Nucléaire's Tours office a contract worth a total of about €1.5 million to upgrade fire detection systems at the Chinon A3 and Bugey 1 nuclear power plants which are being decommissioned.
The services to be provided entail upgrading the fire detection installations on both sites so that the preparation and performance of future dismantling work at these old nuclear power plants can be carried out in complete safety.
This new contract strengthens SPIE Nucléaire's position in the field of fire detection with respect to our customer, EDF. It follows the contracts for the Chinon irradiated materials workshop (AMI), Chooz A, and maintenance at the nuclear power plant in service at Blayais.
