Lyon, 19 July 2011 - SPIE has acquired Reyes Industries, a provider of industrial electrical and automation engineering services. This company, a subsidiary of the Reyes group, is based in La Voulte sur Rhône, Drôme.
Having earned an excellent reputation in the Rhone valley in France where it has been established for more than 35 years, Reyes Industries achieves sales of more than €30 million and employs over 200 people. It is focused on the nuclear sector and other industrial markets, including foods, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, the environment and infrastructure.
"Our business portfolio has now been significantly enhanced in the industrial sector in the Rhône-Alpes region by a greater diversification of our clientele and recognised technical expertise in industrial automation equipment. The talented teams from Reyes Industries will help step up the pace of our development," says Thierry Baussart, the new Chairman of Reyes Industries and CEO of SPIE Sud-Est.
"The acquisition of Reyes Industries' nuclear business will enable SPIE Nucléaire to reinforce its position in electricity and instrumentation & control, and to significantly increase its local presence in the Rhône valley so as to optimise its response to a fast growing market," adds Francis Butel, CEO of SPIE Nucléaire.
"SPIE showed an immediate and very great interest in Reyes Industries and proposed a clear development model that suited our plans for the future. So I naturally favoured that group as it matches the criteria I had defined, offering a procedure that would promote strong development, conserve our jobs and structures, and respect the values that have inspired the personnel at Reyes Industries for years. This will also reinforce the financial capacities of Reyes Constructions," points out Jean Louis Reyes, Chairman and CEO of the Reyes group.
