Atoll is France’s first eco-friendly shopping centre, containing 68 stores primarily devoted to home and garden supplies. With a surface area of 90,000 m2, including 70,000 m2 of retail space, the shopping centre is designed as a large ring with three entrances leading to an inner parking garage. Upon its launch, it was the biggest private construction project in France.
For this project, the developer Phalsbourg turned to SPIE Ouest-Centre for:
- High voltage installations, including transformer stations and generator groups, lighting and emergency lighting systems, the supply and installation of 120 lampposts
- Dynamic signs, including a capacity management and display system for the elevated and 2 underground parking garages (2,700 parking spaces)
HVAC systems, including fire safety systems in the parking garages, heating and air conditioning
for Castorama and storm water drains
- Multitechnical maintenance of equipment in the shopping centre’s common areas (HVAC systems, electrical engineering, fire safety systems, miscellaneous equipment such as automated kiosks, parking gates, sliding doors)
Contributing to the green economy
The eco-friendly shopping centre received HQE® high environmental quality certification, which is awarded based on a set of rigorous criteria, notably in terms of waste management. The facility’s outdoor lighting uses LED fixtures.
