  SPIE was the first French company to receive "HQE Exploitation" (high environmental quality in operation) certification, in recognition of its approach to sustainable building maintenance. The Group is involved in numerous flagship projects such as the Lyon Islands development, which features ambitious targets including consuming 30% less energy than a standard building for heating; obtaining 80% of the energy required for heating and hot water from renewable energy sources; and sourcing 50% of the electricity supply from photovoltaic panels.
