Oss, the Netherlands, April 26th, 2018 – SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, yesterday received the official order from E-Fiber for the deployment of a Fiber to the Premises (FttP) network in the “Land van Cuijk”, an area in the south of the Netherlands, consisting of five municipalities. The practical approach, together with the trust born out of previous collaborations, was the deciding factor.
A total of 41,145 homes will be equipped with a superfast network. For its installation, SPIE will dig approximately 1,000 kilometers of trench, in which 10,000 kilometers of cable will be processed. SPIE will also manage the fiber network. Excavations start at the end of June and the project will be completed during the first quarter of 2020.
With Fiber to the Premises, fiber optic will reach residential areas and industrial estates. Both consumers and businesses will thus benefit from a lightning fast network.
Hans van der Donk, business unit manager of SPIE Nederland’s Network Solutions division, is very pleased with this assignment: "The collaboration with E-Fiber and our regular partners is going very well. We are pleased to demonstrate that SPIE has solutions to solve a growing need for connectivity. "
