Supporting customers and stakeholders
To provide support to its customers and stakeholders in their green economy efforts, SPIE offers a full line of high-performance energy and environmental management solutions. The goal of these solutions is to measure, analyse and reduce the environmental impact of communities, industries and the service sector. By developing these global solutions, SPIE can take action for its customers from the start by performing energy audits. In addition SPIE sign energy performance contracts with its customers to guarantee long-term energy and carbon savings. In this field, the company recently signed the first energy performance service contract with the Musée d’Art Moderne in Saint Étienne, France. The contract will help the museum reduce its energy consumption by 40%.
SPIE can also perform carbon accounting for its customers. This procedure evaluates the amount of direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions produced by their activities.
Since IT systems can contribute to a green economy, SPIE has developed a line of Green IT solutions: videoconferencing, data centres, mobility, telecommuting and energy management for office equipment. In energy, SPIE assesses and promotes energy efficiency by offering energy savings certificates.
Managing the Group’s environmental impact

An ISO 14001 - compliant internal management system is in place to improve practices: facility compliance, energy savings, eco-management of vehicles and recycling. A system has also been established to improve processes through sustainable purchasing, which is continually improving company performance. The company has also performed internal carbon accounting, measuring the exact quantity of direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions produced by its activities.
