SPIE Est is taking part in the second phase of construction work for the East European LGV rail line between Baudrecourt and Vendenheim.
During this second phase, 106 km of new track will be laid between Baudrecourt (Moselle) and Vendenheim (Bas-Rhin) for high-speed transit that will shave another 30 minutes off of the 2 hour and 20 minute trip between Paris and Strasbourg.
Work on the overhead power system includes the following:
- 1 substation in Sarraltroff (Moselle): it will be used to transform voltage from the RTE network (225 kV into 2 x 27.5 kV for the overhead and feeder lines)
- 9 rail substations of 27.5 kV over 106 km – Substation P (parallel installation) – Substation SP (Sectioning and parallel installation): these substations will be used to section the supply for overhead lines in order to offset voltage drops caused by the length of the overhead lines
