The Marine Worlds Carousel, located on the banks of Isle of Nantes in the Loire river, stands nearly 25 metres high and measures 20 metres in diameter. This unique structure dedicated to underwater life welcomes visitors on 3 levels: the ocean floor, ocean depths and the ocean surface. The carousel contains 35 machines based on sea creatures, including a giant crab, pirate fish, reverse propulsion squid, manta ray and jellyfish.
It can accommodate up to 300 riders, including 85 on the machines.
Connected to the ride are welcome areas and office annexes for the operation of the carousel.
For this project, teams from SPIE Ouest-Centre handled high and low voltage installations on the carousel, as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for the annex building.
The subsidiary also signed a multitechnical maintenance contract for the facilities.
Contributing to the green economy
The carousel’s lighting system is managed using an astronomical clock, while its hot water is produced using solar panels.
