Breda, 21 December, 2016 – SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, was awarded a letter of intent from national grid operator TenneT for overhead lines North-West 380 and South-West 380. The tender amounts 70 million Euros over 4 years. SPIE, as a large player in the energy market and specialist in the field of transmission and distribution, has proven several times to be a reliable partner for TenneT. SPIE expects to sign the final contract in the beginning of January 2017.
The new constructed 380 kV overhead lines between Vierverlaten (Groningen) and Eemshaven will be 40 kilometres long. Along the route, existing connections shall be reconstructed, removed or rerouted. Also between Rilland and Borssele a brand-new 380 kV line will be achieved. The reconstruction consists of 220 and 380 kV connections. TenneT chose the innovative Wintrack masts for the new overhead lines to be installed.
Lei Ummels, Managing Director of SPIE Nederland said: “We are pleased with this letter of intent, which is another chance for SPIE Nederland to prove itself as a specialist in the field of transmission and distribution. SPIE has a long term partnership with TenneT. We are confident that this shall be another successful collaboration.“
