A new partnership to promote professional integration
Nantes, September 19th, 2018 – SPIE Facilities, a subsidiary of SPIE France, has just entered into a partnership with ISTIA, the graduate School of Engineering of the University of Angers, and is sponsoring the 2018 – 2021 class of engineers. This will bring about fruitful cooperation that will promote the professional integration of the ISTIA students and inform them of the career opportunities within the SPIE group.
ISTIA – the School of Engineering of the University of Angers – trains its students in engineering professions in a large number of fields, including the IT sector, complex industrial systems, safety in the construction sector, quality management, innovation and reliability. With its long-standing commitment to the IT sector, the graduate school has developed strong ties with the SPIE group, the European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, and its subsidiary SPIE Facilities, the activities of which encompass various subjects taught at ISTIA.
SPIE Facilities will support the 170 students of the new class for three years, from the beginning of their course in September 2018 through to their graduation in 2021. In the context of this partnership, it will include the students in a number of its projects by harnessing their creativity and technical expertise: a great opportunity for each of them to explore the possibilities for development within the Group.
“We are proud to be sponsoring this new class. ISTIA is a school that has a human vision of the engineering professions and that defends values that are very important to our group: proximity, performance and responsibility” says Sylvia Fenger, Human Resources Director of SPIE Facilities.
Mathieu Gau, Operations Director of SPIE Facilities Ouest Centre explains: “The school possesses high-tech equipment, such as a virtual reality platform, which makes it possible to develop real expertise in IT, quality or innovation. These profiles are attractive for engineering roles in facility management and in automation.”
“For ISTIA, this partnership aims not only at promoting the professional integration of our engineers within the SPIE group, but also at showing the dynamism of the school and the true professional foundation of our training”, states Laurent Bordet, Head of External Relations at ISTIA.
