Between April 2012 and December 2014, SPIE Oil & Gas Services will train 350 Iraqi operators and technicians working on the West Qurna 2 field (Basra, Iraq).

SPIE Oil & Gas Services was appointed to train 350 Iraqi operators and technicians. Nearly 200 people will follow an 11-month training programme, while another 150 will follow a 17-month training programme. The training programme includes:
- Intensive English-language classes (6 months),
- Lectures and technical workshops (6 months),
- A hands-on traineeship (3 months),
- Training in sales; Hygiene, Safety and Environment practices; and other non-technical skills (2 months).
To undertake this project, SPIE Oil & Gas Services put together a team of 50, including 30 training managers.
