SPIE Purpose

​In our rapidly changing world, SPIE’s role in society is a key element to guide its future directions, taking into consideration the evolution of its stakeholders and ecosystem.​

Therefore, in 2023, SPIE’s Executive Committee decided to engage a collective reflection on the company’s Purpose, reflecting its uniqueness and long-term contribution to society.​

Such a purpose can neither be decided, nor declared. It must be built at all levels of the company to reflect our collective intent for the future of SPIE.

In order to be meaningful and engaging, our purpose need to be sincere and authentic, built on our existing values. Pragmatic and concrete, it must be connected to reality, being demonstrable with associated objectives. Our credibility will only be ensured if employees and other stakeholders eventually recognize SPIE and themselves in this purpose.​

This is why SPIE committed to a human-to-human approach, embarking around 700 employees and 24 major clients to participate in the construction process of its purpose.
