Bordeaux hospital hepato-gastroenterology unit: SPIE Sud-Ouest is entrusted with electrical engineering design and installation work

SPIE Sud-Ouest is to contribute to a major reorganisation project at Bordeaux university hospital complex. The hospital's hepatology and gastroenterology services are to be combined in a unit at Haut Lévêque hospital in Pessac, south of Bordeaux.
The new 20,500 sq. m. building, scheduled to open in June 2016, will have a patient treatment capacity of 55,000 a year for consultations, 12,000 in surgery and radiology and 10,000 in casualty. The electrical engineering design and installation work for this project has been awarded to SPIE Sud-Ouest as a member of a consortium led by Cari, part of Fayat group. All the high and low voltage work, including the installation of HV/LV distribution, fire safety, voice-data-image, central technical management and telephone systems, will be performed by our general electrical installation teams.
The same services will also be provided in part of an existing building (Maison Haut Lévêque) which is to be renovated and linked to the new building. Work is to start in August this year and is scheduled to last 30 months. It represents a workload of 39,000 hours for production and 5,000 hours for design which will mobilise between 16 and 31 employees.
