Saint-Herblain, April 26th, 2017 – SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, announces the appointment of Bruno Le Lay as Process Operations Director at SPIE Ouest-Centre.
Bruno Le Lay joined SPIE Ouest-Centre as electricity and automation project manager in 1991, before becoming manager for automobile processes in 1995. He was later appointed Business Manager in 2003 and became Head of Department for the Brittany and Normandy region in 2006. In 2009, he was appointed to his most recent role of Process Department Director at SPIE Ouest-Centre.
In his new role Bruno Le Lay will work alongside Philippe Brugallé, Managing Director of SPIE Ouest-Centre. As such he becomes a member of the Executive Committee.
Positioning SPIE Ouest-Centre at the centre of smart industry
With 135 staff at four locations in Brittany and the Pays-de-la-Loire (Brest, Saint-Pol-de-Léon, Rennes and Laval), the Process operations department occupies a strategic position within SPIE Ouest-Centre. It aims to harness SPIE Group’s established skills in electricity together with Process department expertise to create a powerhouse in the field of smart industry.
As Bruno Le Lay explains, “The Process operations department has tried-and-tested know-how in robotics, automation and industrial IT. The idea in particular is to position ourselves as complete systems providers and so expand our services in the aerospace and agri-food industries, both of which are thriving in the Pays-de-la-Loire and Brittany.”
SPIE Ouest-Centre also aims to offer “smart building” solutions that combine energy efficiency with electronic safety and network security.
