Breda, the Netherlands, 17 February 2025 – SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in energy and communications, has joined forces with Extreme Networks, a leader in AI-powered automation for networking, to offer a new Network as a Service (NaaS) subscription model for customers. The NaaS offer makes it easier and more cost-effective for organisations across the Netherlands to flexibly deploy the latest networking solutions when and where they need them.
Flexible subscriptions allow enterprises to continuously upgrade equipment and services as needed, to keep pace with evolving customer needs
With the new NaaS service from SPIE, customers are no longer locked into fixed contracts or legacy equipment. NaaS subscription costs can be adjusted in real time to allow organisations to easily scale services up or down at any point, and SPIE will implement new equipment and/or services on an as-needed basis. SPIE’s Naas offer does not have any mandatory minimum subscription timeline, giving organisations the ability to easily adapt their network to evolving demands by upgrading hardware or choosing to add new software when needed.
“A NaaS service with this level of flexibility will be of tremendous value to customers. Our customers’ network environments are growing at a rapid pace and are also becoming increasingly complex. Not only in size and availability, guaranteeing security is also becoming increasingly important due to the increase in cybercrime and therefore requires extra attention,” says Alex Annink, Business Unit Manager at SPIE.
Robert Stahl, Country Manager BENELUX, Extreme Networks points out: “Organisations must be able to adopt new technologies securely, quickly to remain competitive. Many do not have the time or resources to effectively manage all this technology, and traditional upgrades can come with significant costs. With SPIE’s new offer, leveraging Extreme solutions, these organisations can rely on proven industry expertise and simply think of their network as another subscription, with the peace of mind that they will receive the industry’s best support”.
Raymond Jacobs, Director of ICT Services & Specials at SPIE, adds: “At SPIE, flexibility, innovation, and efficiency are key. With solutions such as Network as a Service and our expertise in maintaining and managing critical infrastructure, we provide customers with the tools to quickly respond to changing needs. Our services minimise risks, strengthen business operations, and offer future-proof solutions for a dynamic digital world. Through a flexible approach and real-time scalable technologies, we help companies optimise their networks without requiring large investments. Whether it concerns infrastructure management or digital transformation, SPIE provides the support and expertise to prepare organisations for tomorrow’s challenges”.
Purchasing new equipment involves high costs and significant investment. Moreover, due to rapid developments in the ICT market, technology often becomes outdated in just a few years. With the current leasing model, customers pay a fixed monthly fee within a contract term. In the new model, the monthly Network as a Service fee is adjusted based on the company’s needs at any given moment. This allows businesses to easily scale up or down, with the monthly fee adapted accordingly. At the same time, SPIE implements the equipment and provides the necessary service.
The service is now available in the Netherlands and targets companies and organisations with more than 100 employees. Dynamic sectors such as education, healthcare, and the hospitality industry can immediately benefit from its advantages. While the initial launch is in the Netherlands, there is already international interest within SPIE. If successful, expansion into other markets will be considered.
