Chaplain wins a new maintenance contract with EADS Astrium
EADS Astrium has awarded Chaplain a €51,000 preventive maintenance contract for its new-generation M51 missile maintenance systems. These missiles, designed at Guenvenez (29), are to be fitted on the nuclear submarine, "Le Terrible", as from 2009. Since May 2007, teams from Chaplain Mechanical Engineering Department has been carrying out maintenance on equipment fitting systems, transport units and gantry cranes used for the servicing of missiles. To secure this contract, Chaplain successfully demonstrated its mutlitechnical skills, allowing the customer to avoid unco-ordinated operations conducted by a number of subcontractors. EADS Astrium also chose Chaplain for its technical expertise and its undertakings on performance. On completion of this 13-month contract, Chaplain's aim is continue providing services for DCNS when it takes over this military site from EADS Astrium. Contacts : SPIE SA
