Cergy, October 4th, 2017 – SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, announces the appointment of David Guillon as Managing Director of SPIE Nucléaire. His appointment is effective as of July 10th, 2017.
Born in 1971 and a graduate engineer from the Polytech Nantes engineering school, David Guillon has spent his entire career in the nuclear industry. Having joined the SPIE group in 1999 as Branch Manager, he went on to hold the posts of Operations Director, Managing Director of SPIE DEN (Nuclear Decommissioning and Environment) and then Director of the “Engineering Centre and Projects” operation (2013). Since May 2017, David Guillon had been Deputy Director of SPIE Nucléaire.
As the new Managing Director of SPIE Nucléaire, David Guillon has joined SPIE’s Executive Committee for France. He replaces Olivier Domergue, who has been made Chief Operating Officer for France .
Seizing opportunities for developing SPIE Nucléaire’s expertise
Beyond the “Grand Carénage” programme for French nuclear power stations, launched by EDF in 2016, which offers very good business prospects for the coming years, David Guillon wants SPIE Nucléaire to follow the principle of developing its customer portfolio and expertise. “We must also increase our collaboration with other major players in the industry, such as Areva and the CEA,” says David Guillon. “There are so many opportunities, not just to develop our current fields of business, but also to build up new areas of know-how, such as non-intrusive predictive maintenance and the deployment of new monitoring systems. The underlying basis for everything must always be a combination of safety, quality and operational excellence”.
