Building Information Modelling (BIM)

Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes open up new prospects for collaborative project management.

Modelling building data

BIM processes allow the entire life cycle of a building to be modelled, from its design to its operation and maintenance, through to its end of life.

Before or during the project, SPIE relies on 3D and 6D models. The models are shared by all parties involved in a construction or renovation project, and subsequently by operators or maintenance people who make it possible to:

  • Virtually test and analyse a building.
  • Anticipate and optimise the work and costs involved in a project and the operation (maintenance, energy consumption, etc.).
  • Ensure smooth interaction, discussion and collaboration between the various parties involved in a project and over time.

The use of the BIM process helps to better anticipate energy requirements and design buildings that are more respectful of the environment.
