Since Monday evening, the Incity tower in Lyon’s Part-Dieu district has been highlighted in France’s national colours in tribute to the victims of the horrific terrorist attacks perpetrated in Paris on Friday, November 13.
Lit up in blue, white and red to represent the French flag as a sign of solidarity with the victims of the Paris terrorist attacks, the building reflects similar gestures as many symbolic monuments all over the world.
"I wanted our Incity tower and Palais de Justice building to be illuminated in the French colours, to show a united country standing together around its values of Freedom, Equality and Fraternity," said Mayor of Lyon Gérard Collomb on Facebook.
The city of Lyon called on SPIE, via the promoter SOGELYM DIXENCE and the constructor BOUYGUES, for whom SPIE provided not only the entire lighting service, supply and installation of the materials, wiring but also the programming and implementation.
SPIE’s team went swiftly into action in response to this special request to light up this emblematic building, which is a strong symbol for the people of Lyon, for a minimum of three nights.
