This university hospital in Paris’s 18th arrondissement provides local care services at its casualty department which is one of the biggest in the Paris as well as providing prestigious, specialised healthcare services in most medical and surgical fields. It covers Paris’s 17th, 18th and 19th arrondissements plus the urban area of Saint-Ouen. The hospital also carries out teaching and research activities and hosts units from INSERM, the French institute of health and medical research.
In order to bring the hospital into full compliance with standards for healthcare establishments, the Paris public hospital authority, AP-HP, chose SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest (IDFNO) to optimise the safety of its electrical installations.
The work to be done includes replacing the emergency high-voltage distribution station, transformer station and LV main switchboard for the ear, nose and throat department, nine LV main switchboards, two HV distribution stations, and three pneumatic power units and control panels for the three existing electric power generators (5 MW power) along with various other upgrading operations.
The technical expertise of the general electrical installation (IGE) department played a key part in securing this contract, the aim of which is ensure continuous power supply to electrical installations.
The works are planned to last 18 months.
