Jansen Venneboer acquisition enhances SPIE’s expertise and competencies in the field of wet infrastructure

Breda, The Netherlands, 7 January 2016 – SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the field of energy and communications announces that it has acquired the Jansen Venneboer Groep on the 1st of January 2016. The acquisition will help SPIE Nederland expand its expertise and competencies in the field of wet infrastructure.

Jansen Venneboer is a knowledge-intensive company specialising in engineering, inspection and maintenance management. The company has nearly one hundred years’ experience in manufacturing, renovating and maintaining electromechanical facilities, bridges, flood defences and sluice gates. The company, located in Wijhe, Overijssel Province, has 96 employees and has generated an annual turnover of €17.7m in 2014.

“Jansen Venneboer has an excellent reputation in the field of installing and maintaining bridges, sluice gates, dams and other types of wet infrastructure,” said Lei Ummels, Managing Director of SPIE Nederland. “Its approach to engineering shows real innovation, boldness and a high level of expertise. This acquisition will help us spread our services geographically, thus allowing us to serve the entire country. By integrating Jansen Venneboer in SPIE Nederland, which already offers similar activities from our Sliedrecht site, we will be able to help municipal, provincial and national authorities manage their infrastructures.”
