Saint-Denis, 10 February 2016 – SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest announces the signing of a contract for the refurbishment of more than 6,000 air treatment modules and the renovation of technical facilities on the various floors of the Alicante and Chassagne towers, Société Générale’s headquarters at La Défense.
Concluded in January 2016, this design-build contract will see SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest oversee a group formed of GESYS (project manager), MANAGAIR and ISB. The work will be split up into four sections over a period of 32 months.
Built in 1995 for Société Générale, at 167 metres tall and with a total area of 126,000 m2, the Alicante and Chassagne towers are capable of housing more than 7,000 people. The contract won by SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest is for the full reconditioning of 6,130 air treatment modules located in the 160 technical facilities in the two towers and the complete modernization of the associated technical facilities
. Central to this operation is a substantial improvement to the two towers’ energy and environmental performance and the introduction of new functionalities to make the building ‘smarter’ and more comfortable, particularly through the replacement of the devices that manage the blinds and the lighting for all offices of the headquarter.
Scheduled to be finished in late 2018, the site will require an upstream study phase before the start of the work and a logistical organization based exclusively on staggered working hours so as not to disrupt staff.
“In addition to fully reconditioning the equipment, we have offered to modernise the air treatment modules rather than replacing them, which will reduce the operation’s carbon footprint,” explains Xavier de Noblens, a project manager at SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest. “The unique features of this technical solution and our ability to overcome restrictions such as night and weekend work were decisive factors in winning this contract.”
