Lorient football club in the limelight of the French premier league
Lorient council has awarded SPIE Ouest-Centre the contract to overhaul the lighting systems at the town's Yves Allainmat football stadium. This fine contract, worth a total of €519,000, involves the following services:
  • Removal of the existing pitch lighting system's and installation of new main and secondary wiring systems (trenches, cables, main LV distribution panel, etc.),
  • Installation of 144 new floodlights.
This project will increase the lighting level from 1,200 lux to 1,850 in order to comply with the requirements for League 1, as specified by the French football association (Fédération Française de Football). The work is scheduled to be carried out between April and May 2008, and an average of eight employees will be assigned to the project for these two months, representing approximately 2,500 man-hours. This contract was won as the result of a team effort by three entities at the company's Lorient location (IGE, INFRA and the Electrical Distribution Boards unit of the CRN department); the SPIE proposal stood out from the competition in terms of the costing and the technical presentation document, which notably included a very precise description of the work phasing.
