Anderlecht, 15 January 2026 – SPIE Belgium, the Belgian subsidiary of SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has been awarded Top Employer certification for the 19th year. This international recognition, granted by the Top Employers Institute, recognises the quality, consistency and maturity of the HR practices implemented by the company. In an environment where team expectations are changing rapidly and where technical professions face a structural shortage of talent, SPIE Belgium is asserting its position as an employer of choice, able to combine operational performance, an employee-focused approach and continuous improvement of its HR processes.
Recognition of the strength of its HR strategy and its enduring appeal in a competitive market
A significant improvement driven by an HR vision aligned with the corporate strategy
In 2025, SPIE Belgium recorded an overall increase of 5.47% in its Top Employer score compared to the previous year. This development reflects substantive work in several key areas, including strengthening the link between the HR strategy and the overall corporate strategy, as well as increasing the use of HR data analysis to inform strategic decisions.
The audit also highlights the quality of internal communication, which is both transparent and interactive, as well as the specific support given to hiring managers, in a context where recruitment and retention of talent are major challenges.
The Well@SPIE programme: structuring well-being as a lever for sustainable performance
Among the most significant developments this year is the deployment and structuring of the Well@SPIE programme, which played a decisive role in the audit results.
While employee well-being has always been a top priority for SPIE Belgium, the company has taken a significant step by formalising a comprehensive, consistent and documented approach to well-being, meeting the current market requirements and Top Employer standards.
“Well@SPIE brings together all the initiatives associated with physical, mental, financial, social and professional well-being, including work-life balance, prevention, training, managerial support and recognition. This structure makes it possible to give meaning to existing actions, ensure their consistency and measure their impact,” explains Annik Vandeputte, HR Development Manager at SPIE Belgium.
Pioneering HR practices that go beyond market standards
SPIE Belgium also stands out due to its practices that are not yet widespread among certified employers: less than 50% of Top Employers have implemented similar schemes.
These stand-out elements include:
- active support for volunteering and employee engagement in local communities;
- enhanced employee benefits, including profit sharing and an employee shareholding plan;
- a cafeteria plan offering personalised salary package flexibility;
- ambitious initiatives in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).
- engagement of HR teams in an ethical reflection on the use of artificial intelligence, in particular through the training of recruiters in responsible and unbiased use;
- structured monitoring of integration for up to one year after starting work, guaranteeing long-term support for new employees.
Employer attractiveness confirmed by concrete recruitment results
In 2025, SPIE Belgium recruited 204 new employees to support the development of its activities and strengthen its teams throughout the country.
In a particularly competitive technical sector, where there is a wealth of opportunities available to qualified candidates, Top Employer certification is a real criterion of choice for candidates. It acts as a mark of trust, signalling the existence of strong HR processes, a real commitment to employees and a structured corporate culture.
A rigorous acknowledgement, far from a simple label
“Top Employer certification is not a given. The benchmark evolves every year based on market trends and new challenges, such as the recent rise of artificial intelligence in human resources. This in-depth audit allows us to regularly review our practices, identify areas where progress is needed and develop our HR strategy in a conscious manner that aligns with our values. This 19th certification is above all a reflection of a collective commitment and a constant desire to offer our employees a structured, respectful, warm and meaningful working environment,” concludes Annik Vandeputte, HR Development Manager at SPIE Belgium.
