Gauthier Louette signs a call to “green” executive remuneration

Published on 28 January 2022

Alongside some twenty leaders of major European groups, Gauthier Louette, Chairman and CEO of SPIE, has signed an appeal to "green" the variable remuneration of executive directors in large companies.

n this letter dated 25 January, addressed to the European Commission and drafted at the instigation of Pascal Canfin, chairman of the European Parliament's Envi Committee (Environment, Public Health and Food Safety), the signatories consider it essential to make part of the bonuses of executive directors conditional on the achievement of sustainability objectives.

The letter comes as the Commission prepares to adopt, possibly as early as 15 February, a revision of the Directive on Directors' Duties as part of a larger legislative package on sustainable corporate governance.

Gauthier Louette had already joined in 2020 the European Alliance for a Green Recovery launched at the initiative of Pascal Canfin.
