Lich-Langsdorf, 23 June 2021 – SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa, the German subsidiary of SPIE , the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, is responsible for all the electrotechnical installations in the new surgical wing of the Hochwald hospital in Bad Nauheim. As part of a public tender, SPIE Lück, the operational unit of SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa, won the order back in February 2021. The project started on 20 April 2021. The experienced and well-established team is scheduled to complete its work in January 2022.

Complex requirements

SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa, is implementing all the electrotechnical installations and the low-voltage main distribution board in the hospital’s new surgical wing. The multi-technical services provider is also responsible for cabling, assembling and commissioning the lighting and the entire EDP[1]/network technology. The surgical wing has to meet particularly high security level and fulfil special IT network requirements. “Since some of the services have to be performed in the existing building and specific shutdown times need to be defined in coordination with the client, detailed planning is essential,” says Denis Reinhardt, project manager at SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa. Another requirement to be fulfilled by the SPIE’s team is the design and installation of an uninterrupted power supply system. “If there’s a power outage, the medical equipment in the operating theatres must continue to be supplied with power so that they carry on working,” says Denis Reinhardt. “A central, battery-supported power supply system is installed that, in the event of a power outage or disruption in the general power supply network, continues to supply power until the emergency power system kicks in.

Trusting customer relations

This effective and trusting relationship between SPIE and Gesundheitszentrum Wetterau gGmbH, which commissioned SPIE to perform a range of technical services in the Hochwald hospital, began back in 2017. “We are a well-established and highly skilled team that operates in a demand- and user-oriented way. This plays every bit as important a role in our success as our open, transparent and personal communication with the customer,” says Roger Buss, who heads the electrical engineering division at SPIE Lück. Over the past four years, SPIE has regularly completed a range of projects in and on the buildings on the premises of the Hochwald and public hospital. “We are really proud that Gesundheitszentrum Wetterau gGmbH has once again demonstrated its faith in us by awarding us yet another contract. We look forward with enthusiasm to our continued successful partnership,” says the division head.
