The Netherlands, Breda, 27 June 2024 – SPIE Nederland, the Dutch subsidiary of SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has become an official reseller in Europe of SISCO software products. Known for its advanced software in the energy utility industry, the American company’s partnership with SPIE will enhance service offerings and provide greater value to customers, owners of electrical substations.
Strategic fit and enhanced capabilities
Digitisation makes it possible to collect data from electrical substations remotely and optimize maintenance based on this data. SPIE’s Stations Automation department specialises in engineering and testing automation solutions, data retrieval, and information sharing between high-voltage substations and control centres. SISCO software is an excellent strategic fit for these operations and enhances SPIE’s automation capabilities. “Given our work in substation automation, selling SISCO software products is a natural extension of our services”, said Sindhuja Vijayaraghavan, Head of Stations Automation at SPIE. “Customers can now purchase the software directly from us, streamlining their process by reducing the number of parties involved.”
Long-standing relationship and expertise
SPIE has been working with SISCO’s IEC 61850*-based software solutions for some time, so becoming an official reseller was the natural next step. “We provide consulting and expertise for SISCO software products, adding value to our high-voltage network customers by simplifying their operations”, added Sindhuja Vijayaraghavan. “This partnership strengthens our existing automation capabilities”.
Expanding market presence
SPIE’s expertise in the European market offers SISCO valuable insights it can use to grow its customer base, expand its software solutions, and align its offerings with the evolving requirements of the European energy utility market.
“This partnership allows us to serve our customers, owners of the substations, even better by offering the software in addition to our services,” concluded Sindhuja Vijayaraghavan. “Being able to directly provide SISCO software products complements our existing services seamlessly.”
* The international standard IEC 61850 was developed to reliably secure data models and communications in substations.
