Malakoff, 12 October 2023 – SPIE ICS, a French subsidiary of SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has announced the appointment of Olivier Sauerbach, 59, to the position of Human Resources Director with effect from 1 August 2023. Reporting to Xavier Daubignard, Managing Director of SPIE ICS, Olivier Sauerbach has also joined the executive committee.

A French digital services company, SPIE ICS employs 3,200 staff members and benefits from a strong local presence thanks to its 60 locations.

In the current context of staff shortages in the IT sector, SPIE ICS aims to offer a unique employee experience and has placed this ambition at the heart of its new strategic plan for 2024–2027.

A true business partner, the Human Resources Department at SPIE ICS strives to:

  • develop employees’ skills, in terms of both technical expertise and "soft skills", by means of ambitious training plans, some of which offer certification
  • retain employees by offering them varied career paths and development prospects within SPIE ICS or other SPIE subsidiaries
  • increase the attractiveness of the company for students and applicants by demonstrating a willingness to promote a gender mix in technical roles as well as inclusion
  • enable each and every staff member to make a tangible contribution to the social and environmental commitments while paying the utmost attention to quality of life at work.

According to Olivier Sauerbach, Human Resources Director at SPIE ICS, "while generative artificial intelligence is set to change the way in which we work and given that 85% of the professions of 2030 do not yet exist, human resources approach needs to be completely reinvented. Further increasing the company's social engagement, nurturing a collective that is proud of its values and carries meaning, while also boosting individual career development: these are all challenges that we face in supporting the development of SPIE ICS".

Having graduated with a master's degree in management from Paris Business School, Olivier Sauerbach held a number of operational and commercial management roles at SPIE ICS before going on to join the Human Resources teams as Human Resources Manager of the Grand Est Division in 2016.
