Poland: SPIE implements a centralised renewable energy management system for PVE Construction

Warsaw, Poland, 15 September 2026 – SPIE Energotest, a Polish subsidiary of SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has announced the completion of the implementation of its proprietary ECONTROLoze system for the centralised management of renewable energy sources in the PVE Group. SPIE Energotest carried out the project on behalf of PVE Construction sp. z o.o., one of Poland’s leading photovoltaic farm contractors. The project demonstrates how advanced solutions can support the efficient use of renewable energy, automate operational processes and optimise the performance of installations in a rapidly evolving electricity market.

The project was carried out in response to the rapid growth of PVE Group’s renewable energy portfolio. The aim of the solution provided by SPIE Energotest was to create a unified environment enabling the centralised management of a growing number of distributed assets, increasing operational efficiency, reducing operating costs, improving security and maximising revenue from energy generation.

SPIE Energotest implemented the ECONTROLoze system, integrating all installations within a single management environment. The solution provides a topological overview of photovoltaic farms, real-time monitoring and remote control of farm operations, immediate response to signals from grid operators and analysis of installation operating parameters. Automatic adjustment of operating parameters, such as active and reactive power, makes it possible to maximise revenue during periods of high energy prices and reduce generation when energy prices are negative. The system currently manages 34 photovoltaic farms with a combined peak capacity of approximately 163 MWp, while its architecture allows for further expansion to include additional generation sources and energy storage facilities.

“One of the greatest challenges in this project was integrating numerous distributed assets using equipment from different manufacturers and ensuring reliable communication between them. In environments of this kind, it is essential to create a platform that not only provides centralised supervision of the entire infrastructure but is also ready to scale as the renewable energy portfolio grows,” says Tomasz Czapla, Director of the Project Delivery Department in the Systems and Automation Division at SPIE Energotest.

The implementation of the system has centralised the supervision of distributed renewable energy installations and significantly improved their monitoring and management. Operators now have real-time access to all key data through a single system, making it possible to automate operational processes, improve operational efficiency, reduce operating costs and enhance the profitability of installations by mitigating the financial risks associated with fluctuations in energy prices.

“The system enables the centralised and scalable supervision of renewable energy assets by providing monitoring, control and regulation in compliance with NC RfG requirements – from individual generating units to the entire investment portfolio. This supports generation planning, the monitoring of key KPIs and efficient operations management,” says Leszek Bussler, Head of the Electrical Project Delivery Department at PVE Construction.

Ensuring a high level of cybersecurity was also a key consideration throughout the project. The ECONTROLoze system is built on a software platform whose manufacturer holds a cybersecurity certificate for the IEC 62443-4-1 standard. Against a backdrop of increasingly stringent requirements for the protection of critical infrastructure, the solution supports the secure and uninterrupted operation of distributed energy resources.

“As the energy transition gathers pace, the importance of advanced renewable energy management systems will continue to grow. In developing the functionality of the ECONTROLoze system, we are focusing on further enhancing its integration capabilities, automating operational processes, expanding analytical and predictive functions, and using algorithms to support decision-making. Another important area is the continued development of cybersecurity functionality, compliance with the requirements of the NIS2 Directive, and support for increasingly complex energy ecosystems comprising photovoltaic farms, energy storage systems, wind farms and other distributed energy resources,” adds Anna Hachuła, Sales Director in the Systems and Automation Division at SPIE Energotest.

For more than 30 years, SPIE Energotest has specialised in the design and implementation of advanced automation systems and IT solutions for the energy and industrial sectors. Its ECONTROLoze system has been designed to support the secure, long-term development of renewable energy infrastructure. Its scalable architecture allows functionality to be expanded progressively as the customer’s installation portfolio grows. It provides centralised management of increasingly complex energy ecosystems and supports businesses in achieving their energy transition goals.
