Tychy, 6 September 2023 – SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, prepared the documentation for the certification process in accordance with BREEAM guidelines for the logistics real estate on the Industrial
Park Tychy in Poland. The latter was awarded the ratings “very good” and “good” through this internationally recognised certification process. To achieve this, and with the support of SPIE, measures aimed at reducing the environmental impact were examined, and the implementation of strict criteria for sustainable buildings was verified.
SPIE has been responsible for technical facility management on the industrial park since 2016
Sustainability thanks to energy-efficient systems
Used all over the world, BREEAM In-Use stands as the oldest certification system for assessing the sustainability of real estate throughout its entire life cycle.
For the BREEAM certification of the Industrial Park Tychy, the fluid consumption in eight logistics buildings on the 97,000-square-meter complex was reviewed. The team of SPIE Building Solutions, one of the subsidiaries of SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa in Poland, subsequently replaced conventional equipment with water-saving systems. “Reducing the consumption of supply systems in real estate is an important measure that our technical facility management teams can implement as a way of contributing to climate protection and reducing costs,” says Marcin Wocial, Junior Project Manager for SPIE Building Solutions. “We have put the foundations in place through our services and confirmed through our documentation that the logistics real estate on the Industrial Park Tychy fulfils the requirements of BREEAM certification to a high level,” says Mariusz Lis, Technical Facility Manager for SPIE.
BREEAM certification enhances attractiveness
All the logistics real estate on the complex has been awarded a BREEAM In-Use certificate with the rating “very good” in the “equipment” category and “good” in the “building management” category. In addition, building “B2” was awarded the rating “very good” in the “building management” category in recognition of its exceptionally low energy consumption.
“Services designed to promote a carbon-free economy lie at the very heart of SPIE’s business. We are delighted to have had the opportunity to prove this once again and so compellingly through our services on the Industrial Park Tychy,” says Dr Pawel Skowroński, General Manager of the Central Europe operational division of SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa.
