A 10Gb LAN/WiFi high availability solution for an outstanding hotel
Paris, October 16th, 2018 – SPIE ICS, the digital services subsidiary of SPIE France, has just completed full deployment of Royal Champagne Hotel IT infrastructures (Champagne region). A “turn key” solution offering optimum services to clients of this exceptional establishment.
A standard in the Champagne region, the “Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa” recently re-opened after a complete refurbishment lasting several months. In a location with UNESCO World Heritage status, this luxury hotel offers 49 rooms spread across a contemporary wing and a former coaching inn dating back to the 19th century, as well as a spa and gastronomic restaurant.
Selected after a tender for IT services, SPIE ICS has just rolled out a 10Gb LAN/WiFi high availability, secure solution for the entire establishment. The brief was demanding: the delivery of a very-high-speed broadband connection for hotel clients from any location or terminal and offering problem-free accessibility and continuity. “The hotel’s technical management team wanted to entrust IT infrastructures to an external design studio. Following its analysis, SPIE ICS was selected to deploy IT across the establishment”, Thierry Cluzet, SPIE ICS business engineer, pointed out. “This decision demonstrates just how access to such services is vittaly important for the hospitality business.”
A global package
Consulted in February 2018, SPIE ICS's teams promptly set to work. They offered the “Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa” a range of services, including all the steps essential to rolling out the optimum solution: conception and design until April 2018, roll-out in May and June, and maintenance from the hotel’s re-opening in July 2018.
Relying on a redundant fibre optics network, the 10Gb LAN/WiFi solution deployed by SPIE ICS provides “Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa” clients with an optimum service level: very-high-speed WiFi anywhere within the hotel and its grounds thanks, to terminals installed in every room, as well as TV and telephone services. This entire infrastructure is based on a TOIP solution and a virtualisation server responsible for the management, supervision and security of the network.
Nicolas Fedele, “Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa” technical director, added: “In this specific contract, SPIE ICS’s teams were able to combine offer relevance, speed of execution and versatility. This is absolutely crucial when working in the high-end hospitality industry, where perfection is the watchword.”
