Seanergy 2026: SPIE, VALEMO and Services Voltige selected by EDF power solutions to provide maintenance for the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm

Published on 20 May 2026

Cergy, 20 May 2026 – SPIE Industrie, a French subsidiary of SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, announces the signing of a contract with EDF power solutions for the maintenance of the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm. As lead contractor for a consortium comprising VALEMO and Services Voltige, SPIE Industrie will be involved in the maintenance of the foundations for the 80 wind turbines and the offshore electrical substation. SPIE Industrie and its partners are thereby strengthening their presence in the French offshore wind sector and their commitment to decarbonised electricity generation.

A new contract building on a long-standing commitment

Comprising 80 wind turbines of 6 megawatts each, with a total installed capacity of 480 megawatts, the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm is located between 12 and 20 km off the coast of Loire-Atlantique, covering an area of 78 km². It generates the equivalent of the electricity consumption of 700,000 people, representing 20% of the department’s annual consumption.

Present on this site—France’s first offshore wind farm—since its construction and a partner of EDF power solutions since 2022, SPIE Industrie is responsible for the electrical and mechanical maintenance of the offshore electrical substation and the wind turbine foundations. Together with VALEMO and Services Voltige, the consortium offers a wide range of technical services, including rope access work, high- and low-voltage electrical work, work in confined spaces, quality inspections including fault analysis, and the annual inspection and verification of the foundations’ safety equipment.

This latest success builds on the momentum established in 2024, when SPIE Industrie, VALEMO and Services Voltige announced their collaboration on the Provence Grand Large project, France’s first floating offshore wind farm.

A comprehensive and complementary offering

The three companies have once again convinced EDF power solutions of the value of their complementary expertise, which can meet the requirements of an offshore wind farm throughout its entire lifecycle. This expertise encompasses multidisciplinary services (electrical and mechanical) in industrial maintenance, provided by SPIE Industrie; work in challenging access environments using rope access techniques, provided by Services Voltige; and the operation, monitoring and maintenance of renewable energy installations, provided by VALEMO.

Under this contract, which begins in May 2026 for an initial two-year term with an option to renew, the consortium will contribute to the maintenance of the internal and external equipment of the foundations (excluding the submerged section) and the low- and high-voltage electrical installations of the offshore substation.

Local expertise mobilised for the long term

Based near Saint-Nazaire and close to the facilities, SPIE Industrie will rely on local technicians who are capable of supporting a wind farm that is expected to operate for several decades. This organisation is helping to create stable jobs in the region and develop a local offshore maintenance sector in France.

“This new contract with EDF power solutions confirms the relevance of the offering we have developed with VALEMO and Services Voltige. Together, we bring complementary expertise and a comprehensive service capability for this wind farm. Decarbonisation goes beyond the nature of the energy produced: through our regional network, we are also choosing local teams and sustainable jobs, positioning SPIE Industrie as a committed player in the energy transition and energy sovereignty,” comments Xavier de Noblens, Marine Operations Director at SPIE Industrie.

“This contract, secured alongside SPIE Industrie and Services Voltige, demonstrates the complementary nature of our expertise in serving the French offshore wind sector. VALEMO has already been involved in the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm since its early stages, notably on quality inspection and commissioning assignments, as well as on part of the wind turbine maintenance operations. The renewed trust placed in us today by EDF power solutions is a testament to the quality of the work carried out by our teams and our ability to support offshore installations over the long term,” explains Frédéric Prévost, Managing Director of VALEMO.

“After four years of demonstrating our expertise at sea, this contract with EDF power solutions cements Services Voltige’s position within the French offshore wind sector. Our rope access specialists and technicians, trained to meet the demands of the marine environment, bring to the consortium a unique expertise in working at height and in hard-to-reach areas on the wind farm’s foundations and structures. We are proud to continue this venture alongside SPIE Industrie and VALEMO, and to make a lasting contribution to the performance of a wind farm that symbolises France’s energy transition,” adds Aymeric Foucher, CEO of Services Voltige.
