Anderlecht, 9 December 2025 – SPIE Belgium, the Belgian subsidiary of SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has been awarded a comprehensive 4-year technical maintenance contract, which covers more than 20 semi-industrial buildings on the Siemens site in Huizingen.
Within the framework of this contract, SPIE is responsible for all technical Facility Management work, which entails managing and maintaining the infrastructure and technical equipment of buildings. The services to be provided cover all technical installations relating to HVAC, (high- and low-voltage) electricity, sanitation, solar energy and any other building-related equipment, and include preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs and structural improvements.
"We are very proud that Siemens has chosen SPIE Belgium to ensure the technical management of its site as a trusted partner," states Vincent Baffo, Senior Business Development Manager at SPIE Belgium. "Through the use of advanced tools, our approach emphasises continuity, energy efficiency and the digitisation of maintenance processes, which will enable us to support Siemens in improving the user experience for its employees and other building occupants".
Digital support with Smart FM 360°
During the start-up and commissioning phase, all departments were fully mobilised: SPIE had a team of technicians permanently stationed on the site over the summer, who received support from a back-office structure and a bolstered planning department. Management took place via our unified digital platform "Smart FM 360°"[1], the software solution that Siemens has chosen to use as its central platform.
In addition to and in combination with our Smart FM 360° tool, SPIE will deploy an AI-based Beeldi interface that has been designed to manage, control and optimise technical and regulatory data relating to real-estate assets. A comprehensive technical inventory process will be implemented, together with a multi-year plan for equipment replacement and optimisation.
A European partnership involving multiple subsidiaries
This latest success in Belgium forms part of a long-standing relationship of trust between Siemens and SPIE at European level. In Germany, SPIE has maintained a long-standing and significant technical and “soft” Facility Management contract with Siemens for many years, demonstrating the strength and added value of this partnership. Building on this experience, Siemens has also strengthened its collaboration with the French teams at SPIE Facilities. The award of the Belgian contract takes this dynamic to a new level and confirms the SPIE group's ability to provide consistent, integrated and transnational support to Siemens in order to pursue their shared vision of energy efficiency, innovation and technical performance.
A future-oriented partnership
"For Siemens, it is essential that our installation management is not only reliable, but also centred on energy efficiency and technical progress," explains Juma Kasongo, Maintenance Supervisor at SPIE Belgium. "In SPIE, we have found a partner that shares our vision and is able to translate it into an integrated, tailored and scalable service," confirms Frederic Flasselaers, Property Manager at Siemens Real Estate.
Through this collaboration, Siemens reaffirms the importance of sustainable, smart and efficient technical support for its headquarters in Belgium.
