The acquisition of Cimlec would enable SPIE to strengthen its service offering for the industrial sector in France. Cimlec is a recognized provider of electrical, automation and robotic solutions. With around 310 qualified employees, Cimlec generated total revenues of around €42 million in 2018.

SPIE and the shareholders of Cimlec aim to complete the contemplated transaction by July 2019, after having consulted employee representative bodies.

Olivier Domergue, Managing Director of SPIE France, stated: "We are very pleased to have the opportunity to reinforce our Industrial Services capabilities, particularly in the field of robotics, with the expertise of the employees of Cimlec. Their know-how will enable us to provide our customers with even more value-added services to assist them in their development by enhancing significantly our competencies in robotics and automation. As a leader in multi-technical services we will also reach a critical size in the field of industrial services and an even stronger local presence.”

Raphaël Gorgé, President and Managing Director of Gorgé Group, added: "Cimlec is one of the oldest subsidiaries of Gorgé Group, and I am happy with this operation that will give a fresh impulse to Cimlec and its team. I am deeply convinced that the complementarities between SPIE and Cimlec’s operations will foster its growth."
