Brussels, December 8th, 2016 – SPIE Belgium, a subsidiary of SPIE group, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has announced the acquisition of Tevean in Belgium. SPIE Belgium strengthens its capabilities in Building Systems.

Established in 1950 and located in Zelzate (East Flanders), Tevean designs, builds and maintains electrical, security and fire protection systems for buildings. Tevean’s clients operate in the non-residential, healthcare and industrial sectors. The company employs 50 people and generated sales of circa 9 million euros in 2015.

Tevean employees will join forces with SPIE Belgium’s Building Systems division, where they can continue to develop their skills and competencies, which have been key to Tevean’s success. This new business unit within SPIE Belgium’s Building Systems division will be active primarily in Flanders and in the Brussels area.

Johan Dekempe, Managing Director of SPIE Belgium, commented: “With this acquisition, SPIE Belgium continues to expand the range of its services. Tevean’s technological competencies will perfectly complement those of our Building Systems division. Moreover, Tevean’s client portfolio offers potential synergies for our Building Systems activity, and a more prominent position in the Care & Cure niche market.

Rudy Stals, Chief Executive of Tevean, added: “We have found in SPIE Belgium the perfect partner to take over our family business. Within SPIE Belgium, Tevean will be able to develop further and continue to offer a high-quality service to its clients.
