Cergy, December 21st, 2017 – SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, signed yesterday an agreement for the disposal of SPIE’s Moroccan operations (“SPIE Maroc”) to ENGIE.

SPIE Maroc is a major player on the HVAC, telecommunication infrastructures and multi-technical maintenance markets in Morocco. With more than 1,000 employees, the company generated approximately €70 million in production in 2016.

This transaction is consistent with SPIE’s strategy to focus its activities and growth on European markets (except for its Oil & Gas division), in which the market structure and growth dynamics match with the Group’s business model. The closing of the transaction is subject to the approval of Moroccan antitrust authorities.

Gauthier Louette, SPIE’s Chairman and CEO, declared: "Established in Morocco since the beginning of the 20th century, SPIE has become a leading player on this market, with a comprehensive range of services. I am convinced that this combination with ENGIE, which is already very present in Morocco, will enable SPIE Maroc and its employees to further develop their business and skills under optimal conditions.”
