SPIE continues to innovate in energy efficiency field with the acquisition of GPE Technical Services

Breda, 19 February 2016 – SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, announces that it has acquired the company GPE Technical Services B.V. on 16 February 2016. The acquisition allows SPIE Nederland to broaden its range of services relating to the inspection and optimisation of steam systems.

GPE Technical Services specialises in steam and condensate systems. Since 1997, the firm has been internationally active in various sectors where steam plays a key role in the production process. This firm which is located in ‘s-Hertogenbosch in the south of The Netherlands and employs 7 people generated in 2014 a turnover of €1.3 million.

For a number of years now, SPIE has focused on innovation within energy-saving projects. GPE’s knowledge and expertise will enable SPIE to provide even better services to its existing clients, by significantly increasing the efficiency of their energy systems.
GPE is thus working on the controlling of 6.000 condensation traps for a petrochemical plant in the Europoort area in Rotterdam. The experts of GPE perform measurements and carry out the maintenance of condensation traps and are able to detect sources of potential energy loss.
